I.O : A RALEIGH CRAFT CONVENTION
Spring '09
Design for an event targeting crafters across the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina. 'i.o' (short for 'inner.outer,' chosen for connections to the Raleigh Beltline, the binary quality of the digital realm, and the repetitious nature of many crafting techniques) would seek to bring members of web-based craft communities together in a centralized physical location where visitors could enjoy exhibitions, workshops and a chance to display and sell their handiwork. A collaborative investigation into lifestyle design, the process of defining the event led to the creation of print materials that would guide, inform and catch the attention of i.o's convention-goers.
