Logo/Identity System for Christ Church of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
Unveiled January 2010
The church has been a cherished gathering place and helping hand to the Mount Pleasant community for 300 years. The design committee worked through the summer to create a banner identity for Christ Church for the first time since it was founded in 1706. The logo and accompanying design system fulfills a several-fold need, described here by Rector Ted McNabb:
"Our new logo captures the fact that we are moving into our fourth century as a parish and remain committed to the Great Commssion of Jesus Christ, which is timeless... This logo reflects something solid as a rock, yet open, warm-hearted, and receptive. It is traditional at the core and dynamic along the edges.
"The intention from the outset was to create a logo that would incorporate the various worhsip styles, be cross-generational in use and appeal, and foremost, reflect the values of our Christian faith. As I hope you can see, we believe it does exactly that."
